Jonathan Baldwin Lone Name On Chiefs Injury Report

The Kansas City Chiefs got back to practice preparing for the Detroit Lions and there was one name on the injury reportfor Wednesday -- WR Jonathan Baldwin. He's still working his way back from the thumb injury suffered in a reported altercation with RB Thomas Jones.

Kent Babb of the KC Star reported Baldwin still has the splint on his hand so until that comes off it's hard to see Baldwin participating in any games.

The good news is that Baldwin is the only name on there. Last week the Chiefs had QB Matt Cassel and WR Steve Breaston listed, in addition to Baldwin, but both Cassel and Breaston ended up playing.

I haven't heard of anything regarding Baldwin's return. It could be Sunday or it could be a month from now. We just don't know.

Unfortunately, the longer he sits out, the more his rookie season is being wasted. The Chiefs had hopes for him this year but if he's not even practicing fully yet, I can't imagine when he'll end up producing for the team on a consistent basis. This isn't a veteran coming back from an injury. It's a rookie with one preseason game under his belt.
