The Kansas City Chiefs play the Detroit Lions this week and the betting line on the game isn't pretty. Steve gave you the details of the opening line, which was around 7.5 points, but that has now shot up to nine points in a lot of places which means plenty of people are buying that the Lions will take care of business.

So the Lions as nine point favorites right now. When is the last time the Lions -- the Lions! -- were favored by this much? Covers.com, a sports betting service, says it's been over a decade:

Lions are favored by 9 over Chiefs. That's the most Detroit's been favored by since Wk 17 in 2000, when they were -9 over the Bears.

Eric Berry was in sixth grade the last time it happened. Matt Cassel was a freshman at USC. Todd Haley was with the New York Jets as a young assistant.

And I had just gotten my driver's license.
