The Kansas City Chiefs have released seventh round pick FB Shane Bannon for the second time in his short NFL career. Bannon, who was on the practice squad, will be replaced by G Lucas Patterson.
Bannon was drafted by the Chiefs last April as a fullback out of Yale. He went through training camp with the team and the Chiefs released him last week on the final cut down day before re-signing him to the practice squad.
Patteron was a defensive tackle out of Texas A&M who switched to offensive guard with the Chiefs. He was an undrafted free agent who signed, went through training camp with the team and was released last week.
The Chiefs eight man practice squad now includes Patterson and LB Justin Cole, G Darryl Harris, WR Jeremy Horne, DB Quinten Lawrence, OL David Mims, NT Anthony Toribio and TE Kyle Nelson.
