Chiefs Vs. Packers: Kansas City Leads 16-7 At Halftime

The Kansas City Chiefs ended the first half with a great play - a Tyler Palko to Dwayne Bowe TD lob on 4th and 1 with 14 seconds left in the second quarter.  Bowe's catch was great and Palko looked like a serviceable backup on the drive.

Near the start of the second quarter, Barry Richardson had a holding penalty, his fourth penalty in two weeks. The Chiefs faked a punt and it was a good call. They drove down the field and it resulted in a fantastic Dexter McCluster diving catch at the goal line. Chiefs lead, 9-7.

A quick Brandon Flowers interception later and the Chiefs had the ball back in the middle of the second quarter. Unfortunately, Packers' nose tackle B.J. Raji Howard Green sacked and subsequently fell on Matt Cassel. The Chiefs' QB left the game, holding his throwing hand/arm. Tyler Palko took over for Cassel.

One Packers possession later and Tamba Hali nabbed a fumble recovery after Brandon Carr hit QB Matt Flynn. The Chiefs and Tyler Palko led a touchdown drive after that.

The biggest news of the quarter is that Matt Cassel left the game with that apparent injury. But at the end of the half, Cassel was on the sideline, looking fine.

It's 16-7, in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs. They end the first half with 16 unanswered points.
