We'll be seeing the world champions tonight when the Green Bay Packers host the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field. We're operating on a short week with this game on a Thursday so here's a quick recap of what we've been talking about this week:
Chiefs cut nine total players earlier this week -- seven on Monday and two on Tuesday....I wouldn't qualify any of the cuts as a surprise....OT Ryan O'Callaghan landed on IR, which is concerning but not a huge deal....The next cut, which has the Chiefs going from 80 to 53 players, comes this Saturday.
We did our connections post as well....There are quite a few connections between these two teams, including the head coach....Matt Conner asks: How important is preseason rhythm?....Todd Haley says the "core guys" in tonight's game will have a "good amount of playing time."....Not totally sure what that means....G Ryan Lilja reportedly isn't expected to play tonight with an unknown injury while C Rodney Hudson will take his spot at left guard....The reigning Super Bowl MVP QB Aaron Rodgers will play tonight.
Here's a look at the last time the Chiefs and Packers played.....That's also the only Chiefs preseason victory since 2008.....I talked with SB Nation's Acme Packing Company about the game and a few lesser known players.....I also asked them what it's like, as fans, to win a Super Bowl.
