Kansas City Chiefs Saturday Practice Report

Another day, another practice. Here's your recap of the Kansas City Chiefs practice this afternoon in St. Joe.

-The day began with players signing autographs for fans. It started about a half-hour before practice began and included just about every player on the team. Each side of the field was lined with fans looking for autographs.

-WR Jonathan Baldwin and DE Glenn Dorsey were dressed but in shorts. They were doing walk-through stuff but not anything physical.

-Your first team offensive line: LT Branden Albert, LG Ryan Lilja, C Casey Wiegmann, RG Jon Asamoah, RT Barry Richardson.

-Your second team offensive line: LT Butch Lewis, LG Daryl Harris, C Rodney Hudson, RG Bobby Greenwood, RT Ryan O'Callaghan.

-Greenwood came to the Chiefs as a defensive end, moved to offensive tackle last year and now sits at right guard.

-Your punt returns were WR Dexter McCluster, WR Steve Breaston and WR Jerheme Urban. CB Javier Arenas was back there a little bit, too.

-Referee Ed Hochuli was out there again with the rest off his crew. I saw him talking with the quarterbacks at mid-field about something. Not quite sure what.

-In 7-on-7, QB Matt Cassel threw a nice ball to WR Terrance Copper at the right side of the end zone near the pylon. The ball was (purposefully) thrown behind Copper and he turned at the perfect time to make the catch...but dropped it.

-Cassel hit Urban on an awesome pass in the left corner of the end zone. It was over the shoulder with CB Donald Washington on him and I'm not quite sure how he hauled it in.

-Keep an eye on No. 8, WR Chandler Williams. He's a smaller receiver but has solid moves while running his routes and can create separation.

-LB Tamba Hali didn't practice in a lot of the drills but he was out there for team stuff. Sounds like yesterday's issue was just a conditioning thing.

-Hali was working with LB Justin Houston for a little bit on his hands. Nice to see those two together.

-P Dustin Colquitt had one of his punts tipped and the ball went flopping away. I couldn't tell who tipped it though. Colquitt also drilled one punt about 60 yards in the air.

-The first-team defense looked about the same as before with one change -- DE Wallace Gilberry was in there for Dorsey.

-Starting 11-on-11 work, FB Le'Ron McClain got the first carry. McClain4RB.com?

-WR Steve Breaston entered 11-on-11 work in the slot.

-The defense worked on interception return drills earlier in the day and that's a good thing. QB Tyler Palko was looking for WR Verran Tucker on a crossing route and LB Demorrio Williams stepped in and picked it off.
