We've been waiting on one more restricted free agent to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs and it's been reported that it's done. Nick Wright of 610 Sports reports CB Brandon Carr has signed his restricted free agent tender and will be in camp today.
This is the news we expected to happen after Carr tweeted "It's go time!" earlier today. The Chiefs practice this afternoon and he could be out on the field if the CBA is totally, completely done by then.
In Carr's absence, CB Javier Arenas and rookie CB Jalil Brown have been playing cornerback but I imagine Carr slips right back into his starting spot opposite CB Brandon Flowers.
Great news for the Chiefs getting Carr back. We'll wait for them to officially announce this signing, as well as LB Tamba Hali's new deal.
Carr couldn't practice until today anyway because of the rules with free agents and the new CBA anyway so he hasn't missed anything by waiting until now.
Now about LB Justin Houston....
