The Kansas City Chiefs haven't officially confirmed that LB Tamba Hali has signed but we think that'll be coming in the near future.
Steven St. John of 810 WHB reported the long-term deal between Hali and the Chiefs and says Hali is expected to take the practice field Thursday. That's the first day free agents can practice so we'll finally have a full house at practice. It's almost like this is when camp really starts because there's been so many moving bodies without the regulars, like C Casey Wiegmann.
It hasn't been the same watching Chiefs training camp without Hali so I'm sure he will quickly line up in his regular spot whenever he gets to camp. Once he's there, all will be well in the world again. He's a lot of fun to watch because he goes non-stop and, at the end of the day, is pretty damn productive. Glad to see that returning.
Of course, this is all under the assumption that the new CBA is completely and totally done by tomorrow afternoon. We're hoping that it is. People are reporting that it is. If the deal, for whatever reason, isn't done, then Hali may have to wait to practice with the Chiefs. It's OK, though, he has five more training camps to come.
