Just Last Week, Anthony Becht Was Looking Forward To Broadcasting Career

The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly signed (or agreed to terms with) TE Anthony Becht to a one-year deal today making him the sixth tight end on the Chiefs roster. The Chiefs haven't confirmed the news but Becht did on his Twitter account writing:
It's been a privilege to play 10 yrs in the NFL. I love playing this game and I'm fortunate to get this opportunity.i will work my hardest [t]o help the Chiefs succeed this season. I would like to thank everyone for the[ir] support..It's good to be back!
Honestly, I thought Becht was retired considering he didn't play last year.

Interestingly, 610 Sports' Danny Parkins points this out: it was just last week that Becht was talking to the NY Post about the start of his broadcasting career. So the call from the Chiefs must have really come out of the blue.

A couple weeks ago Becht worked out for the Atlanta Falcons, whose GM is is Thomas Dimitroff, Scott Pioli's former co-worker.
