The Kansas City Chiefs continue to mine the free agency market for future Chiefs players and one of those is CB Kelvin Hayden. A former second round pick of the Indianapolis Colts, Hayden visited the Chiefs last week, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.
La Canfora reports that Hayden previously drew interest from the Chicago Bears, Washington Redskin and Oakland Raiders. He's expected to visit the Minnesota Vikings today.
Hayden was the Colts 2005 second round pick and is perhaps best remembered for picking off a pass from Bears QB Rex Grossman in the 2006 Super Bowl returning it for a touchdown.
Our Colts blog, Stampede Blue, had this to say about Hayden when he was released a few weeks ago:
Hayden was in the third year of a $43 million dollar contract. Since signing that deal, Hayden has appeared in only twenty regular season games. A neck injury landed him on the Injured Reserve list last season.
The Chiefs didn't sign him so we'll see what happens from here.
