It started last week when Aaron Wilson of FOXSports.com reported that we should expect the Kansas City Chiefs to have interest in free agent FB Le'Ron McClain. A few days after that, I did some digging and reported that, while they may have some interest, the Chiefs hadn't actually talked to McClain yet.
On Monday, that changed. I can now tell you that the Chiefs have made contact with McClain's camp although we're not sure where he fits on the priority list right now.
What's interesting is that the market for McClain has changed since last week. There haven't been any reports of contract offers from other teams or anything like that so it at least seems it's been slow-going with him on the open market.
Basically, this means his price tag might be lower this week compared to last week. If that's the case, it likely got the Chiefs attention because we know how they stress value on the free agent market.
Just today, Wilson reported that the Dallas Cowboys have started showing some interest so that could prompt whatever list of teams are interested in making a move.
Will that be the Chiefs?
