We just wrote a story about the Kansas City Chiefs 2011 training camp ending today and I noted that, last year, the team had an open practice at Arrowhead Stadium after camp ended. I wondered if the Chiefs would be doing the same thing because it seemed to be a popular event.
Somebody was apparently listening because the Chiefs just sent out a release announcing that they will indeed hold a practice at Arrowhead next week.
The Chiefs confirmed that on Wednesday, Aug. 24, they will be conducting an open practice at Arrowhead Stadium. The gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and practice starts at 7:15 p.m. with a brief autograph session before practice. If you need to work on your tailgating techniques before the season, next Wednesday is the time to test it out.
So the highlights:
- Free parking
- Autographs at 7:00 p.m.
- Practice at 7:15 p.m.
- Chiefs cheerleaders are debuting the 2011 swimsuit calendar at 5:15 at the complex
- The following players will be in attendance: QB Tony Adam, WR Derrick Alexander, TE Keith Cash (!), LB Anthony Davis, P Kelly Goodburn, DL Bill Maas, DB Larry Marshall and RB Tony Reed.
