So last night was....well, yeah.
The Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25-0 in the first preseason game on the schedule. It was definitely ugly, and we expected some of that with Todd Haley's one career preseason win, but we shouldn't get too stressed about it.
As we do after every game, we're going to ask you to grade the Chiefs performance. I'm generally pretty optimistic with these sorts of things but I have a good feeling we won't be seeing many passing grades for this performance. But, hey, no big injuries, right?
The thing that bugs me the most is the turnovers, especially early in the game. The Chiefs protected the ball very, very well last year and that was a big reason for their success. Haley needs to and will hammer into the Chiefs the importance of protecting the football. If they come out of this game with a better understanding of how to protect the football then this game will ultimately be a success, but only time will tell.
So how did the Chiefs do?
