Arrowhead Pride Weekly

Another week and we have our first game under our belts.  Losing always leaves a bad taste in my mouth but I seen a lot from the game last night.  I also had a job interview and my daughters birthday party.  It was a busy day for me but I'm not upset about the game at all.  There were a few areas that I thought we needed to work on but other than that I'm not worried.  Tampa were playing a game while we were evaluating.

There was a lot of news and great posts that were lost due to preseason excitement.  If you want to follow along I am featuring some great posts.  We have some power rankings to look at along with some recent signings.  You can also see where we were at a year ago today.

1. Chiefs Shutout In Preseason Opener

I already stated above why I'm not too worried about the game.  I did like Jalil in coverage during the game.  I also liked what I saw in camp when I went.  I am loving our secondary right now!  Houston and Greenwood really impressed me as well.  We need to work on the small things such as fundamentals.  There was a lot lost during the long lockout.  Haley will prepare them for our first official game with the Bills.

2. Former Ravens OT Jared Gaither Signed By Chiefs

If Gaither stays healthy then we have a really good player on our hands.  If nothing else he will be really good depth for our team.  It is funny how the Raiders fans are talking trash now that we got him.  Just last week they were all going nuts thinking they were going to get this guy.  Go Pioli and company!

3. NFL Preseason Schedule Starts Winless For Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers

At least the rest of our division lost too.  I think all teams have their problems during the preseason.  The Chargers lost because their backups aren't any good.  The Raiders lost because they are the Raiders.  The Broncos lost because of a lone turnover because the stats were basically as even as they come.  This is just preseason folks, don't get too worried.

4. Kansas City Chiefs Reportedly Add Wide Receiver Kerry Colbert To Roster

I'm not sure if this is a good move or not.  I think we are pretty stacked at WR but another body during camp shouldn't hurt.  We also can look at options in case of injuries.  So I guess it does have the advantages.

5. ESPN’s NFL Power Rankings Have Chiefs Ranked 14th

I think that ESPN's rankings are pretty accurate.  I think we are just about right and I still put us over anyone in our division.  Hopefully, we advance to number 1 throughout the season.  Where do you think we should be placed everyone?

This is a great post by Flowers24.  I am big on CB stats and have made quite a few posts over our CB's.  Brandon Flowers is very underrated especially for being  a smaller corner.  If you haven't read this then you should and I promise you won't regret it.

2. Chiefs Rookie Jalil Brown Sounds Prepared For Bucs Game

I am really high on Brown at this point.  He just seems to get the game of football.  He also seems to buy in to the KC way.  I am glad that we have such good coaches.  I am also glad that Brown can learn from a very good secondary.  I'm thinking he takes over Arenas spot before the season ends.  Arenas can then focus on our return game and come in during dime packages and substitutions.

We seem to be in the same spot we were last year but a lot better even though the score really doesn't reflect that.  Keep your heads up high and remember where we were a year ago and even 2 years ago if you want to remember that mess.
