So we were wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs would sign an offensive tackle to compete with OTs Barry Richardson and Ryan O'Callaghan, among others.
Your answer: OT Jared Gaither.
Adam Teicher of the KC Star reports (and the Chiefs have now confirmed) that the Chiefs signed Gaither on Thursday. This is a big signing for the Chiefs although it does come with question marks.
Gaither is yet another former Raven coming to the Chiefs joining FB Le'Ron McClain and NT Kelly Gregg. He played left tackle with the Ravens and performed well before a back injury sidelined him all of the 2010 season.
That injury is significant because the Oakland Raiders were reportedly set to sign him this offseason before shying away, presumably for health reasons.
So questions we still want to know: Is he healthy enough to play? What's the length of the contract? Will he play on the right or left side?
Gaither is one of the biggest players in the NFL at 6'9" and 340 pounds and he's also one of the Chiefs biggest signings this offseason -- if he's healthy.
