The Kansas City Chiefs officially announced two moves within the last hour with the signing of wide receiver Keary Colbert and the acquisition of kicker Todd Carter off of waivers. Carter adds a second kicker to the Chiefs training camp along with Ryan Succop, giving the team's brass a chance to see another option in case of emergency and also to probably give some help with special teams practice.

Carter has a very limited NFL career to this point, appearing in one game last season with the Carolina Panthers after signing as an undrafted rookie free agent. He did, however, appear in workouts for the Chiefs and the Chiefs reportedly offered him a contract before he chose signing a $320K deal with the Panthers.

Now that the St. Louis Rams have waived him, Pioli and company will have more of a chance to see him up close. And the Chiefs add yet another body to the 90-man maximum roster.
