Chiefs Training Camp Goes Under The Lights Again

The Kansas City Chiefs will be conducting their final night practice of the 2011 version of training camp this evening at Spratt Stadium on the campus of Missouri Western State University. It'll be their second night practice of the season with the first coming last week.

It seems like we just started training camp but we're actually winding down. Wednesday night's practice is the fifth final practice in St. Joe this year.

The Chiefs won't practice on Thursday instead traveling back home for Friday night's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They'll return to St. Joe on Sunday, Aug. 14 for a 3:00 p.m. practice. They'll have that daily schedule Sunday through next Wednesday, when they'll conduct their final practice.

The attendance at St. Joe this year seems noticeably lower than in year's past and that's most evident at the night practices and even Family Fun Day. Maybe the allure of camp has worn off in the second year....or maybe it's just too damn hot.

Whatever it is, I'm curious to see the attendance at tonight's practice. If you're still planning a trip to camp, this may be the best of the remaining days to do it in order to avoid the heat.

I've got the rest of the camp schedule posted after the jump.
