It's August and Todd Haley still hasn't announced who will be calling plays for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2011. Apparently, Haley and Co. haven't even broached that topic which is making me wonder if Haley already has the right person in mind.

Haley won't say whether he'll be calling the plays so we went to the other candidates for the job -- offensive coordinator Bill Muir and quarterback coach Jim Zorn. Neither said they knew what the play calling situation was yet.

Muir: "Right now I'm worried about playing the Buffalo Bills."

Zorn: "That's going to be totally up to Todd and he'll tell us as we go along. We haven't even discussed that. He probably has it in his head what he's going to do but I'm not going to ask him."

I would guess the longer this goes the more likely Haley will end up calling the plays. He did so in the 2009 season and one of the story lines throughout the season was whether it was too much for the head coach to do so be prepared for those questions if he decides to take the reins again.

This is the third consecutive year we've entered August without a confirmation of who will call plays for the Chiefs.
