Chiefs Make Kelly Gregg Official

The Kansas City Chiefs officially announced the addition of former Baltimore Ravens NT Kelly Gregg. Reports first came out early on Saturday morning that he and the Chiefs had agreed to a one-year deal. Now that's officially done.

Gregg can not, as Josh Looney points out, practice until Aug. 4. The transition rules following the lockout are keeping unrestricted free agents who sign who sign out of practice until then.

Why? No clue. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, if you ask me.

So Gregg can attend meetings, watch practice and things of that nature but not actually practice. We'll have to wait for Aug. 4 for that.

So here's a list of all the players the Chiefs have signed this week:

Their own guys: C Casey Wiegmann, S Jon McGraw, CB Travis Daniels, WR Terrance Copper, TE Leonard Pope, OT Ryan O'Callaghan, RB Jackie Battle, S Reshard Langford (ERFA) and RB Mike Cox (RFA).

New guys: WR Steve Breaston and NT Kelly Gregg.

Undrafted free agents: Auburn CB Demond Washington, Virginia Union OT David Mims, Tennessee-Chattanooga OL Chris Harr, Texas A&M DT/DE Lucas Patterson, UNC OT Mike Ingersoll, Central Connecticut WR Josue Paul, Oregon DT Brandon Bair, USC OL Butch Lewis, Temple LB Amara Kamara and Michigan State TE Charlie Gantt.
