DE Ty Warren, OT Nick Kaczur Among Patriots Cuts

The New England Patriots made a couple of roster moves today and I'm wondering if a couple of them may interest the Kansas City Chefs. The Patriots announced the release of a number of players, including DE Ty Warren and OT Nick Kaczur.

The Warren release is a surprise but New England area reporters are suggesting that he could return under a more cap-friendly contract.

The Kaczur release is pretty interesting to me. He played right tackle in New England -- behind Chiefs OT Ryan O'Callaghan at one point -- so GM Scott Pioli is familiar with him. Reportedly, the Patriots wanted him to agree to a pay cut.

We've been talking about whether the Chiefs will add anyone to the offensive line in free agency. At right tackle, OT Ryan O'Callaghan is a free agent and OT Barry Richardson has a restricted free agent tender on him.

Kaczur is 32 years old so I'd guess he wouldn't be incredibly expensive. It's a situation worth exploring for the Chiefs, if you ask me (which you didn't).
