Besides the 2011 NFL free agent signings, rumors and trades, the Kansas City Chiefs still have to take care of some basic business this week and one of those tasks is assigning out jersey numbers to their 2011 NFL draft picks.

And probably the jersey number you care most about finding out (if you care at all) is the Chiefs' first round pick WR Jonathan Baldwin

Well as Baldwin just tweeted out, he'll be wearing No. 89 for the Kansas City Chiefs. Baldwin wore No. 82 in college. I'd wait for the Chiefs to make this official, which should come very soon, before buying that jersey.

No. 89 has been pretty good to the Kansas City Chiefs over the years. Otis Taylor wore No. 89 in the 1960s and 1970s. TE Keith Cash wore it in the mid-1990s. Andre Rison wore it in the late 1990s and TE Jason Dunn was one of the last Chiefs to wear the number.

So, here's to Jonathan Baldwin being more Otis Taylor like than Andre Rison like (Although Bad Moon Rison was pretty decent).
