Report: Steve Breaston To The Chiefs On Five Year Deal

Well, Kansas City Chiefs fans, GM Scott Pioli did it.

According to Jim Trotter of SI.com, WR Steve Breaston agreed to a five-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs that includes $9.5 million guaranteed. No word yet on the total value of the contract.

With the connection to Todd Haley -- both were in Arizona in 2008 -- we figured this signing was a possibility. It became a little more real when reports out of Arizona indicated the Chiefs were the front-runners.

This means that the Chiefs now have the three B's -- Bowe, Baldwin and Breaston. Not a bad starting three, huh?

Breaston's best season in his four-year career came in 2008 when he caught 77 passes for 1,006 yards. His offensive coordinator at the time was of course Haley.

I'm liking this move a lot, folks. This'll give QB Matt Cassel another weapon on offense to pair with the league's top rushing attack.

Keep in mind, this won't become officially official until Friday night at 5:00 p.m. (Arrowhead time) when players are allowed to sign with teams. For now, this is a verbal commitment.
