2011 NFL Free Agency Roundup: Santonio Holmes, Matt Hasselbeck And More

New, comments

The Kansas City Chiefs free agency moves to this point have mostly been agreeing to terms with their own guys. We've yet to see them agree to terms with an unrestricted free agent from another team.

While the Chiefs are staying in-house for the time being, the rest of the league is getting a move-on in free agency. Here's a round-up of some of the bigger deals coming across the wire. Which one is the best move so far?

WR Santonio Holmes re-signing with the New York Jets. Apparently, this is a huge deal worth over $20 million guaranteed. We'll see if they can keep WR Braylon Edwards now, too.

QB Donovan McNabb reportedly close to being traded to the Minnesota Vikings. He'll have to restructure his deal but, for a pair of late round picks, why not?

QB Kellen Clemens to the Washington Redskins. Things could be worse, Chiefs fans. Look at this QB battle: QB John Beck, QB Rex Grossman and now Clemens.

WR Donte Stallworth to the Redskins. The Redskins, like usual, are being linked to most of the big free agents, including several receivers. For now, it's Stallworth.

QB Matt Hasselbeck to the Tennessee Titans. Not that surprising as many people predicted this. Reportedly, he got $21 million over three years. QB Jake Locker will keep waiting.

CB Ike Taylor re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was quietly one of the top cornerbacks available so I'm surprised the Steelers retained him. They're usually not big spenders.
