Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley came from the Arizona Cardinals and WR Steve Breaston is a free agent that could be leaving the Arizona Cardinals so there are obviously going to be come questions about him coming to Kansas City.
As of this morning, Breaston had six teams after him, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, and the Cardinals have reached out to his agent which suggests they have some interest in keeping him.
The KC Star's Kent Babb said in a live chat recently that he doesn't think the Chiefs will make Breaston a high priority in free agency. Breaston could fill the third receiver role in Kansas City though I agree with Babb in that the Chiefs likely won't be looking to break the bank on him.
He had his best season in 2008 when Haley was coaching receivers as he passed the 1,000 receiving yard mark so that's something to consider. If the Chiefs are looking for a starting receiver in free agency, Breaston makes as much sense as anyone. Haley probably knows almost as much about Breaston as any other team so the Chiefs would be making a somewhat informed decision.
We'll see how they react but I wouldn't be surprised to hear they're one of the six teams interested. The bad part about that many teams expressing interest is that his price tag is probably being driven up.
