Kansas City Chiefs Schedule This Week

Lots of people are asking about this schedule so I wanted to bump it this evening. Full, updated NFL Calendar is here. -Chris

Actually, Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli will be busy all week. He has a lot to do in a very, very limited amount of time. This is the moment he, and the rest of us, has been waiting for since the lockout began on March 12.

Starting on Tuesday, the Chiefs will have a number of things to do. The NFL released a calendar of what's going down over the next week (and it's what we expected). Here's a run down of what to expect:

On Monday (today), the league will release a list of the 2011 free agents. [Here are the RFAs and the UFAs.]

On Tuesday, team facilities will open at 9:00 a.m. (Arrowhead time). This means players can report back to the facility and start getting work in with the coaching staff. The Chiefs can also start signing their draft picks and undrafted free agents. They can start negotiating with their and other free agents but can't start signing them yet.

On Thursday, the Chiefs can open training camp. The team hasn't confirmed yet that this is the official start date but, by rule, they can start on this day.

On Friday, free agency begins at 5:00 p.m. (Arrowhead time) where the Chiefs can start signing their own free agents and other teams' free agents. This is when the fun really starts.

Yep, football is back. This is sweet.
