Chiefs' Ryan Lilja Weighs In On NFL Lockout Madness

So no one really knows what's going on with the lockout right now. On Thursday night, ESPN had a report citing NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith that there would likely be a vote on Friday. Later on Thursday an NFLPA rep said on ESPN that there was no timetable for a vote.

So no one really knows exactly what's going on and that includes Kansas City Chiefs G Ryan Lilja.

"I'm seeing the same stuff as everyone else," Lilja told the Border Patrol on 810 WHB Friday morning. "I was glued to the TV last night watching ESPN trying to figure out what's going on. I've been in contact with our player reps, trying to get a timeline in mind of when we might be headed back and what exactly the negotiations look like."

Like many other players, Lilja says it's only fair that the players have some time to digest the material they were proposed.

"I think it's only fair to give our guys enough time to digest the material. It's a long document and it's a far-reaching document. It's going to affect guys throughout their entire careers and then some. You want to get it right. I think it's only fair to let our guys look at it, and we understand time is of the essence, but we want to make sure we know what we're signing."

It's looking more and more like the players' decision on the proposal won't come down until sometime this weekend.
