[Update: Eric Berry's agent, Chad Speck, says Berry "did not attend and had no knowledge of this event, and he certainly did not approve the use of his name and image in connection with the party."]
Here's your weird news of the day.
An advertisement for a party for the pornography industry -- Exxxotica Expo 2011 -- features several NFL players in uniform, including Kansas City Chiefs S Eric Berry and CB Brandon Flowers. The players are listed as hosts of the party, which is fine.
The problem arises from the fact that the ad features the players in their uniform. Here's a photo of the ad. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told ABC-7 in Chicago that they're looking into whether the players were allowed to be featured in their uniforms.
"Our legal team is reviewing the ad. In general, companies not affiliated with the NFL or its clubs may not depict a player in his uniform."
So, to review, the players have done nothing wrong, as far as we can tell. The biggest problem, in my eyes, is why Chiefs players are associating with a Raider, as Oakland WR Jacoby Ford is also featured.
