Chiefs' Matt Cassel, Jonathan Baldwin Spend Part Of Last Week In Joplin

There have been a lot of NFL contributions to the Joplin tornado relief from the Kansas City Chiefs to the St. Louis Rams to the Indianapolis Colts. NFL teams are doing their part in donating time and supplies to fixing Joplin.

Among those who took a trip down to Joplin to lend a hand in the wreckage was WR Jonathan Baldwin and QB Matt Cassel. This news came out last weekend but I'm just now getting to it.

If you'll recall, Baldwin was in KC working out with Cassel so, according to Peter King of SI.com, Baldwin at one point texted Cassel asking about what they should do for Joplin and by the next morning there were on the ground there.

"It was the most shocking thing I've seen in my life, and I lived through being in the epicenter of a major earthquake,'' Cassel said over the weekend from his Kansas City home. "The devastation is like a nuclear bomb went off. Huge trees, 100 years old, ripped out by the roots. A car thrown up into the middle of a tree. It's one of those things you can't imagine unless you're there.''

We'll throw out periodic reminders that you can donate at RedCross.org.
