Chiefs' Clark Hunt Sets Up Conference Call With Roger Goodell

Over the past couple of weeks we've seen NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell conduct conference calls with various teams' season ticket holders including the New York Jets and New York Giants.

An NFL spokesman told me a while back that it's up to the teams to set these conference calls up and, on Thursday morning, Kansas City Chiefs season ticket holders will get their chance.

Clark Hunt sent an email to season ticket holders Tuesday morning informing them that they'll have the chance to participate in a conference call with Goodell on Thursday. The call will also include suite holders and sponsors.

At least one of the topics will of course be the labor situation. Hunt, along with the rest of the NFL's owners, have used their considerably larger PR machine to get their message out to the fans and, if you've been reading this site for a while, you know I find it frustrating when we see some of the public finger-pointing.

That's why I was so encouraged on Thursday to hear Hunt say this on 810 WHB: "We're in a business dispute right now with the players. That's all it is. It's nothing personal. When it's over, I know we'll go back to the great relationship that we had before it started." (Of course, with this being of significant public interest, it's a little more than just a business dispute.)

So, any of you season ticket holders out there plan on listening in?
