Good morning. Another day of Kansas City Chiefs news is waiting. Life is good.

"I had a chance (Tuesday) afternoon to speak with Gov. (Jay) Nixon. He described the devastation as something beyond his wildest dreams. Having seen it on TV, I totally understand. Here are the best unrestricted free agents the Chiefs have signed in the free agency period since 1993. Plus, there's one extra from the long forgotten Plan B free agency that came in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

In 2009, the Chiefs gave up a second-rounder for quarterback Matt Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel. Because the Chiefs lacked yards-after-the-catch ability and playmakers, Cassel added only 0.2 points a game to Kansas City's offense, which averaged 18.2 points a game. However, in Cassel's second season, the Chiefs rose to 10-6 and he went to the Pro Bowl.
