Good morning, Chiefs fans. There is a lot of Kansas City Chiefs news out there this morning. We start off with updates on the collection of items for the recovery in Joplin and end up with some love for Len.
A rain-soaked Tuesday afternoon didn't discourage hundreds of Chiefs fans and area residents from filling up Arrowhead Stadium's Lot C to lend a hand in tornado relief efforts. Arrowhead was open throughout the day for bottled-water and monetary donations benefiting tornado victims in Joplin, Missouri and Reading, Kansas.
The community response was overwhelming.
Tornado Relief Knows No Boundries from The Mothership
One of the easiest ways is to take part in the bottled water drive being coordinated through the Chiefs. On Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. they will be collecting bottled water at Arrowhead Stadium.The Chiefs also announced Tuesday night that FEMA officials have asked for donations of work gloves, batterries of all types, heavy duty trash bags and flashlights. Those can be made on Wednesday at Arrowhead as well.

An SFA is a player that was found wanting by a pro football team that signed him to a contract and then after a period of time released him. He’s then "on the street" available to sign with any team in the league.
Every NFL team has SFAs in their past that made history for their performances. The Chiefs organization had one of the finest SFA’s in pro football history in Hall of Fame quarterback Len Dawson.

I believe that teams with many players practicing together can benefit more than teams like the Chiefs, who are working with small numbers. The only Chiefs I saw today before being shown the door were Cassel, Baldwin and wide receivers Jerheme Urban and Jeremy Horne.
