Head to the home page for the latest draft coverage.

After Ricky Stanzi, the Kansas City Chiefs' selection of Ole Miss NT Jerrell Powe with the No. 199 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft is going to make Arrowhead Pride readers the happiest. NFL Draft Scout rated the 6'2", 335 pound senior the 16th best defensive tackle. He was projected to go as early as the third round.

The Chiefs had a private workout with Powe and spoke with him at the 2011 NFL Combine. They definitely had their eye on him for a long time.

As Mike Mayock just said, Powe will have a chance to get some snaps next season in a situation role, mostly at nose tackle.

He was named a Rebels 2010 team captain.

So AP readers, this is one of the nose tackles you wanted. Happy? I'm happy with the pick. Nose tackles are always good to have when you run a 3-4 defense. Nothing about Powe says elite to me but time will tell.

The Kansas City Chiefs' draft picks so far in the 2011 NFL draft are WR Jonathan Baldwin, C Rodney Hudson, LB Justin Houston, DE Allen Bailey, CB Jalil Brown, QB Ricky Stanzi, DE Gabe Miller and now NT Jerrell Powe. The Chiefs final 2011 draft pick is in Round 7, Pick 20 (223 overall).
