Mel Kiper And Todd McShay's Round Two Mock Drafts Have Chiefs Going Offensive Line

New, comments

Make sure you check out Brian Galliford's round two mock draft at SBNation.com.

Yesterday about this time, various experts were coming out with their final 2011 NFL Mock Drafts and most of them had the Kansas City Chiefs choosing an offensive lineman with the No. 21 overall pick. As you now know, despite having the opportunity to draft a lineman like Wisconsin's Gabe Carimini, the Chiefs instead went with WR Jon Baldwin.

Well, we're full on into the updated round two mock drafts and Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both have the Kansas City Chiefs drafting an offensive lineman with the No. 55 pick. For the second day in a row, the momentum for the Chiefs' draft pick is with the offensive line.

Mel Kiper's round two mock draft pick for KC:

Orlando Franklin, G, Miami (FL) Added protection for Matt Cassel and a good run blocker as Scott Pioli builds his lines.

Todd McShay's mock didn't have a write up but he chose Georgia G Clint Boling. That's two guards for the Chiefs in two different mock drafts.

Neither one of these guys showed up on the Chiefs' draft interets table but then again, maybe that means the Chiefs will actually draft them? I would be happy with either pass rush help or offensive line help in the second round. I think that's what the Chiefs need most right now.
