Second, here are my thoughts and predictions.
The Patriots are the best shot at a primetime game. The Chiefs share a lot of Patriot connections and that's a story line I could see the NFL latching onto. You have the GM Scott Pioli angle, the Tom Brady/Matt Cassel angle, and the whole Chiefs/Patriots connection.
There are multiple primetime opportunities. I think you have to throw in the Packers and Steelers are primetime possibilities because they were in the Super Bowl last year. They'll likely see multiple primetime games and the Chiefs could be included there.
Divisional games could also be in primetime. I don't see any divisional games in primetime because the Chiefs played the Chargers on Monday Night Football last year but it's still a possibility. Of the three, I think the Chargers would be the most likely.
I would guess a primetime game comes early in the season. The Chiefs have a significantly harder schedule this year and, looking at it objectively, folks could think they'll drop off by the end of the season. That would mean they would be a less attractive primetime draw. So I'm predicting a primetime game comes early in the season.
I think the Chiefs will have one primetime game. That's my official guess. I'd like to say more but I'll stick with one for one remembering it's possible to get flexed into a primetime game later in the season. I'll say that primetime game will be against the Patriots.
