On Wednesday I noticed a couple of Kansas City Chiefs players tweeting to each other asking if they were going to the "meeting" in Kansas City. I wasn't quite sure what that meant but I was thinking it was some sort of lockout meeting.

As it turns out, there will be a meeting and it will come on April 4. Eric Berry talked with Kevin Kietzmann on 810 WHB's Between The Lines on Thursday afternoon and referenced several times a meeting on the fourth.

(FYI: Berry was on BTL promoting a Big Brothers, Big Sisters event at Arrowhead next week. Click this link for details and participate if you can.)

"The only thing I've been getting from Brian Waters, McGraw and those guys is that they're trying to set up things within the Chiefs," Berry told Kietzmann. "Just trying to get us together, get the players together and discuss some things. We're supposed to be having a meeting on the fourth. We're just trying to get some things ironed out and get a little schedule together I guess."

Berry didn't hand out many details of exactly what this meeting would be about but suggested it would be about offseason meetings among the players.

"We're supposed to be setting up some things and getting some things situated as far as scheduling or when we were going to meet and try to get together as a team if the lockout was still going on," Berry said. "So I think that's what the big deal about the meeting is."

Berry said offseason workouts would normally be a time for the team to bond so that's why he's disappointed they haven't been able to start the offseason program yet.

"That's why I really wanted to get together so we could be in the weight room together and get that bond and building on what we had last year but the lockout kind of sent us through a loophole so I guess that's why we're having this meeting on April 4th."

So be on the lookout for a bunch of Chiefs hanging around, possibly in Kansas City, on April 4.
