I'm sure many of you were on the edge of your seats this past week, wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs would leverage their position as a finalist to win the inaugural United Nations NGO Positive Peace Award recipient.
This award, viewed as a "21st-century peace prize", honors and recognizes individuals, businesses, athletes, sports teams, entertainers and schools around the world for their positive contributions, according to NBA.com.
The finalists for the award were Texas Rangers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox; the Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks; and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts.
Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the Diamondbacks were announced as the award winners yesterday. Which means the Chiefs barely missed out on being able to call themselves the "most positive team in the world."
Disappointed?
