2011 NFL Mock Draft: The Cleveland Browns Select...

The 2011 Arrowhead Pride Mock Draft continues on with H2E choosing for the Cleveland Browns with the No. 6 pick. I should have expected to have to embed five YouTube videos for this write up....

As most of you surely know, Cleveland is the funkiest city in the funkiest state of the Union. Sorry Cincinnati, even with the likes of James Brown you can't hold a flame to the **** that came out of the Mistake on the Lake. Unfortunately, Cleveland has not been bringing the defensive funk as of late.

In 2010 Cleveland was a sad 25th in the league in sacks and an even worse 27th against the run. A soft defense like that isn't going to cut it if you're going up against run heavy teams like Pittsburgh and Baltimore twice a year. Luckily for the Browns, the Donkey's reached on an injury prone defensive end and both top defensive tackles are still on the board.

Thus starts the not-so-great defensive tackle debate. In one corner we have Marcell Dareus out of Alabama, in the other Nick Fairley out of Auburn. Dareus seems to be the safer pick as he has more desire to play football, whatever the hell that means. The downside is that he's better suited for a 3- 4 and he flat out isn't the player that Fairley is. Fairley is well suited for Cleveland's 4-3 front, is the better athlete, has a much higher ceiling but conversely may have a lower floor. Some people suggest that Fairley may take plays off but you can't dispute the unstoppable force he is on the plays where he decides to bring it. It comes down to a risk reward evaluation and you know what, Mike Holmgren aint no play-it-safe p---y. No no no no no, this is the man who hitched his wagon to Matt effing Hasselbeck.

That said, with the sixth pick the Cleveland Browns take:

Nick Fairley, defensive tackle out of Auburn.

6'5" and nearly 300 pounds of straight badass. 2010 Lombardi Award winner and BCS National Championship game defensive MVP. Todd McShay says Fairley may be a bust but what does that pencil-neck know? I know this, McShay didn't say that to Nick's face. Fairley had a ho-hum Combine but went off at his Pro Day. Some say he's a one-year wonder but suckas were saying the same thing about Suh last year.

You know what we like about Fairley? BEAST MODE. Some people will say, "He plays dirty, he's not part of the Right 53." Those people are morons. If there is one position on the field where I want guys playing dirty it's on the defensive line, and Fairley is as dirty as they come. Three personal fouls against Georgia? Hell yes! Its totally worth the 15 yard penalty if Bad Touch Ben's spleen is bleeding (actually check that, an injury to Bad Touch Ben would open the door for the Dennis Dixon show but you get the point). You can't teach a player to have a thirst for blood and Fairley has it.

Fairley not only strengthens both the Browns pass rush and run defense but makes 2010 top pick Joe Haden better by not giving Bad Touch Ben and Unibrow eons to throw. Bottom line, Fairley brings the funk.
