I'm having trouble keeping these hall of fames straight. Last week, it was Priest Holmes to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Last weekend, it was Willie Roaf missing the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
This week: Emmitt Thomas to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Here's a very quick summary of the Chiefs defensive backs coach:
Angleton, TX native. CB played 13 seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs (1966-78). Chiefs all-time interception leader with 58. Selected to four Pro Bowls & made one AFL All-Star team. Twice led the league in interceptions (AFL in 1969 & NFL in 1974). His 12 picks in ‘74 set a Chiefs team record. Played at Bishop College in Dallas. Entering his 31st season in the NFL coaching ranks. Currently the defensive backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. Elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
Nine new members were inducted to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, including former Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman John Randle.
The next Hall of Fame we push for? Will Shields in '12.
