Kansas City Chiefs QB Kyle Orton is most likely out against the New York Jets after the team decided to list him as doubtful for Sunday's game, according to Josh Looney. Players that are doubtful hardly ever end up playing so don't expect to see him out there.
We were hoping Orton would be available, even with a small set of plays, but it looks like that's not the case. We probably should've seen this coming after he was limited the first two days of practice and, according to reports, wasn't doing much throwing at practice.
This means Tyler Palko once again gets the start, the fourth of his career.
What could be interesting is whether Orton is active at all on Sunday, either as the Chiefs second or third quarterback (if Ricky Stanzi is active) in an emergency situation. The Chiefs have avoided putting Stanzi in the game this year so if Orton isn't active they're one play away from seeing the rookie.
