Tamba Hali Was Apparently Injured In Chiefs-Bears Game

This is news to me but the Kansas City Star reported in Monday's edition of the paper that Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali was apparently injured in Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

Adam Teicher reports that it's a "possible broken hand" but even if it is proven to be broken Hali could still play depending on the severity of the injury. The Star's report didn't sound as if Hali was in serious danger of missing time but we shall see. Hali never left the game and I'm not sure when the injury happened.

The Chiefs have dealt with plenty of injuries to high profile players this season but losing Hali for any stretch would be devastating. He's the best defensive player on the team (with a hat tip to Derrick Johnson) and for much of the season has been the only source of the pass rush.

That said, KC had their best pass rushing day of the season last week and, if Hali were to miss any time, it's a good time for Justin Houston to be coming into his own.

We'll hope for the best.
