So....who gets the Kansas City Chiefs game ball for the performance against the Chicago Bears? I can see a number of candidates.
First, the obvious one -- Justin Houston. The Chiefs rookie linebacker continues to play well and had his first real breakout game with three sacks. That should make him a candidate for the NFL defensive player of the week. You could include Derrick Johnson here but in keeping with the theme of one offensive, defensive and special teams player, we'll stick with Houston.
Second, Dexter McCluster had arguably his best game since the third game of his rookie year against San Francisco. He compiled 107 yards from scrimmage but most importantly he was in the right place at the right time to catch the deflected Tyler Palkko hail mary pass, which was the score that ultimately won the game for the Chiefs.
Third, Dustin Colquitt and the Chiefs special teams did a solid job against the Bears special teams allowing Devin Hester to return just three of 11 punts. One went for 44 yards but outside of that he didn't have an impact and the Chiefs didn't really give up a lot of field position kicking away from him.
Who ya got as your MVP from Sunday?
