The status of Kansas City Chiefs RB Jackie Battle is in doubt for Sunday's season finale against the Denver Broncos. Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel told reporters today that Battle is in a walking boot and the team has doubts as to whether he'll be available.
"As far as our roster is concerned, Jackie Battle got banged up in the game," Crennel said on Monday (via NFLN). "He is in a boot. We're doing x-rays, MRIs and second opinions to try to figure out what his situation is.
"Right now, he's not practicing today so right now if I had to list him I'd list him as doubtful. Until we can get a determination from the doctors, I'll make a determination at that time what we need to do, if anything, as it relates to the roster."
If Battle can't play, I suppose the Chiefs could put him down for the year and play someone else. It certainly doesn't sound hopeful that Battle will be available, which would be disappointing for him in his first year of extended action.
