The Kansas City Chiefs stunning upset of the Green Bay Packers was fun but now we have to move on and focus on the Oakland Raiders. Yes, it's Raiders week, which is usually one of the most exciting weeks of the year.
Let me rephrase that -- it should be one of the most exciting weeks of the year. Unfortunately, the Chiefs haven't had much success against the Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium recently -- and Romeo Crennel has reminded his team of that.
"When you play an opponent for the second time you have a little bit more knowledge of them and that's going to help us on a short week that we have this week because we play them on Saturday afternoon," Crennel told Brian Billick on FOXSports.com this week. "They have to come to our place and here at Arrowhead it can be kinda tough to play at times even though the Raiders came in here last year and beat up on us pretty good. I reminded our team of that."
The Raiders haven't lost in Kansas City since 2006. Oakland swept the Chiefs last year and split with them in 2009, 2008 and 2007, while winning each game in Kansas City during those years. So the last Chiefs victory over Oakland inside Arrowhead was on Nov. 19, 2006.
This is obviously the biggest game of the year for the Chiefs. They still have a shot at the playoffs and, though they need some help, it starts with beating the Raiders on Saturday and the Denver Broncos the week after that.
Initial thoughts on Raider week?
