The Kansas City Chiefs fired Todd Haley on Monday and named Romeo Crennel the interim head coach shortly after that. Crennel has one more year remaining on his contract and will be one of the guys that gets an interview for the permanent position.
And, as of now, Crennel is the favorite to land the Chiefs head coaching job in 2012. This according to the oddsmakers at Bovada.
- Romeo Crennel: 2/1
- Josh McDaniels: 5/2
- Kirk Ferentz: 3/1
- Jeff Fisher: 7/2
- Bill Cowher: 7/1
That's probably the way I'd rank those guys. You know my early prediction is Crennel as the next head coach, and there have been plenty of rumors surrounding McDaniels and Ferentz. Fisher and Cowher are two guys that, like Jon Gruden, will be attached to every head coach opening this year.
