Kyle Orton Out For Chiefs-Jets Game

As expected, QB Kyle Orton will not play for the Kansas City Chiefs today. Orton was labeled as doubtful for the game but we were holding out hope the Chiefs would keep him on the gameday roster in case of an emergency. That's not the case today -- Orton is inactive and will not play today against the New York Jets.

The rest of the inactives contain no surprises: WR Jeremy Horne, CB Donald Washington, OT David Mims, TE Jake O'Connell, DE Brandon Bair and NT Jerrell Powe.

Missing from that group is QB Ricky Stanzi, who will be active as the backup quarterback behind QB Tyler Palko.

The Chiefs had five players on the injury report -- Orton, LB Jovan Belcher, LB Demorrio Williams, DE Wallace Gilberry and C Casey Wiegmann -- and only Orton is out in that group.

Among the inactives for the Jets is RB Joe McKnight, who is the team's kick returner. Those duties will now belong to CB Antonio Cromartie and CB Jim Leonhard will return punts.
