Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley used a pretty good analogy yesterday when talking about the Chiefs move from 0-3 to 4-4.
Essentially, the Chiefs were in debt with their bad start and they had to make their payments over the next few weeks to get out of the red. His analogy is great:
"I told the players, it's like when you give your credit card to your girlfriend or your wife and you say (laughter), here you have this, and get this, this and this...and then all of a sudden you're in the red. I'm not inferring that my wife ever overspent, by any means.
"We were in debt and we clawed and scratched and worked real hard to get all of our payments made and now we just have to make sure that spending that energy to get back to where we are, which again we are at the halfway point and we are in this thing."
Ms. Primetime controls the finances in our household so I can't say I can relate to this, but I'm sure plenty of others can.
