The Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals have something in common -- they both have denied local reports that they're selling the naming rights to their stadium.
A few weeks ago, Bob Gretz of BobGretz.com reported that the Kansas City Chiefs had sold the naming rights to Arrowhead Stadium and that an announcement was planned in conjunction with the Monday Night Football game against the San Diego Chargers.
The Chiefs denied the report and Monday Night Football came and went with no announcement.
Interesting, the Kansas City Royals are going through the same thing. NBC Action News reported that the Royals had sold the naming rights to Kauffman Stadium.
Like the Chiefs, the Royals denied the report this morning saying basically what the Chiefs did -- they've been talking to companies about selling the naming rights but nothing has come to fruition.
So what's going on in Kansas City with these naming rights reports?
