Sounds Like Dolphins' Mike Pouncey Expects To Play Vs. Chiefs

Miami Dolphins rookie center Mike Pouncey sat out of Wednesday's practice after suffering a neck injury last weekend against the New York Giants but it sounds like he's planning on being available this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Palm Beach Post quotes Pouncey as saying

"I just rested, getting ready for (today). I'll be at practice (today). We'll see how things go, see how I feel out there. I'm feeling great right now, so I can't wait to get out there."

I wonder if GM Scott Pioli will be interested in watching Pouncey play this weekend. I say that because Michael Holley's new book, "War Room" (which comes out on Nov. 8), includes a nugget that the Chiefs called the Dolphins during last year's draft to talk about trading up in order to snag Pouncey.

Of course we know now that the trade never went through but it does tell us that Pioli liked Pouncey enough to consider a move-up.
