By Beating Chiefs, Bill Belichick Would Pass Bill Parcells In All-Time Coaching Wins

The Kansas City Chiefs have a unique relationship with Bill Parcells from his familiarity with Romeo Crennel to Scott Pioli the son-in-law to Todd Haley and in and out of the rest of the coaching staff. Likewise, the Chiefs have more than a few connections to Bill Belichick, largely through the same guys. The Chiefs are pretty well-connected to these guys considering they've never coached in KC.

On Monday Night Football, those worlds will collide.

Parcells and Belichick are currently tied in the career coaching wins record books at 183 victories each. (Oddly enough, the victory that tied it up came against a team Parcells used to coach -- the Jets). A win by the Pats on Monday, and Belichick passes Parcells, taking sole possession of ninth place.

Yeah, as if this game needed another story line.

Belichick and the Pats would need to run the table in order to move into eighth place as Chuck Knox (LA Rams, Buffalo, Seattle) is at 193 wins. Belichick has a ways to go to catch Marty, who is at 205 wins. The all-time leader is Don Shula, who has 347 career victories.
