It's gameday, and as Joel pointed out, another beautiful one at that. The Chiefs are ready to take on the Denver Broncos and look to erase the woeful annihilation that took place at the hands of the Miami Dolphins last weekend.
There are many story lines here that make this one an interesting matchup: Can the Chiefs get back into first place? Will Tim Tebow shine again and improve to 3-1 as a starter? Will the Chiefs get this necessary win with a difficult stretch of schedule on the horizon? What's the line on this game? So many to choose from, but let me help you with that last one in this week's installment of The Closing Line.
In The Opening Line, we saw that the Chiefs were 3.5 point favorites and the total was 41.5. Here on gameday, just a slight change as the Chiefs are -3 (-125) and the total is 42.5. Allow me to briefly explain the -125 aspect: On a normal wager of $100, you are risking $110 to win that $100. Here, to wager on the Chiefs, you would have to put up $125 to win $100. This happens once in a while when the oddsmaker does not want to move the line (in this case to 3.5), so if you really want the Chiefs at -3 you are going to have to risk a little more. In my experience, this sort of thing is good news for us as Chiefs fans. As for the game itself, I am laying off because if you can tell me how this one (between two inconsistent teams) will end up then you have some psychic abilities.
